Okay, hear me out—Big Mac Tacos.

It sounds indulgent (and it totally tastes like it), but this homemade version is made with real, clean ingredients you can feel good about. I first made these on a Friday night when I was craving something fun and fast—but didn’t want to hit the drive-thru. They were such a hit, they instantly became a family favorite.

These tacos are high in protein, easy to make, and taste just like your favorite burger... but in a handheld, better-for-you form.

Ingredients

For the Ground Beef:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef or ground turkey

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Special Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp avocado mayo

  • 1 tsp mustard

  • 1 tsp ketchup (no sugar added)

  • 1 tsp chopped pickles or relish

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp paprika

  • Salt, to taste

For Assembly:

  • 6 small whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas

  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles

  • 1/4 cup diced onion

  • Optional: sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, mix all the special sauce ingredients. Taste and adjust. Set aside.

  2. Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until no longer pink, about 6–8 minutes.

  3. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.

  4. Assemble your tacos: Layer ground beef onto each tortilla, drizzle with special sauce, and top with shredded lettuce, cheese, diced onion, and pickles. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using (it’s a fun Big Mac nod!).

When I started focusing on feeling good after meals—not just during—recipes like this made all the difference. It’s comfort food made better.
