Grilled Naan with Yogurt Sauce Recipe

It started as a “what’s-left-in-the-fridge” night. I had a pack of store-bought naan, a little Greek yogurt, and some herbs barely holding on. I tossed the naan on the grill, stirred together a tangy sauce, and served it as a quick side. But the moment I dipped that warm, smoky bread into the cool, creamy yogurt — wow. It was the kind of flavor that made me slow down and breathe. Now, this is my go-to when I need something fast that still feels homemade and comforting.

 

Ingredients

For the Grilled Naan:

  • 4 pieces of store-bought naan

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Pinch of sea salt

For the Yogurt Sauce:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 garlic clove, finely grated

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint or dill

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: drizzle of olive oil or pinch of chili flakes on top

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.

  2. Brush both sides of naan with olive oil and sprinkle with a little salt.

  3. Grill naan for 1–2 minutes per side, until warm with light char marks.

  4. In a small bowl, mix together yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper.

  5. Serve grilled naan warm with a generous dollop of yogurt sauce. Drizzle with olive oil or sprinkle chili flakes if you like a little kick.
