Delicious BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches Recipe

8 hrs bbq sandwich comfort food easy dinner pulled pork serves 6 slow cooker

This recipe started as a weekend experiment and quickly turned into one of our most-requested meals. I wanted something hands-off but hearty, so I tossed a pork shoulder in the slow cooker, let it do its thing, and by dinnertime we had the most mouthwatering pulled pork. Pile it high on a bun, add a little slaw, and dinner is done.

 Instructions

1. Prepare the Pork

Pat the pork dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and chili powder.

2. Cook the Pork

Place the pork in a slow cooker.
Add apple cider vinegar or broth to the bottom.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 to 5 hours, until the pork is tender and pulls apart easily with a fork.

Transfer the pork to a large bowl or cutting board.
Use two forks to shred the meat.
Discard any large pieces of fat.
Return the pork to the slow cooker and stir in the barbecue sauce.
Let it warm through on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
